Let Them Play Foundation is a California non-profit corporation. Its sole function is to advocate and help fund a restoration of intercollegiate football at Santa Clara University.


 In The News

REV. PAUL LOCATELLI, S.J. (1938-2010)

Former Santa Clara president Rev. Paul Locatelli, S.J. passed away July 12 at the age of 71. Rev. Locatelli served as president of the university from 1988-2008.

Per the SCU web site, "A viewing will be held Friday, July 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mission Church on SCU’s campus at 500 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, California 95053. A funeral Mass will be held that evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Mission Gardens, with a reception following. A private committal ceremony will be held at a later date."

The Let Them Play Foundation extends its thoughts and prayers to the Locatelli family and to the extended Santa Clara community.

1948, SCU vs. CalHISTORY & TRADITION
Santa Clara played on the major college level until 1952. During that time the Broncos competed favorably on the national level and locally with the likes of Stanford, California, and St. Mary's. From 1929 to 1942, Santa Clara was blessed with a succession of talented coaches who brought the Broncos to the pinnacle of national glory. More >>>

THE CASE FOR FOOTBALL
On February 2, 1993, Santa Clara announced the discontinuation of football at the university, a move that stunned and saddened alumni and fans of the Bronco program. Since that day, a small group of alumni and friends of the program have sought the appropriate forum to make their case that football has a place at Santa Clara. More >>>
