Let Them Play Foundation, Inc. Let Them Play Foundation is a California non-profit corporation. Its sole function is to advocate and help fund a restoration of intercollegiate football at Santa Clara University. In its heyday, the Broncos traveled to the Sugar and Orange Bowls as one of the nation's most prominent teams. Rising costs forced Santa Clara out of major college football in 1952. Reborn in 1959, the Broncos returned to its winning ways. With 25 All-America selections in a 20 year period, the Santa Clara program helped form the careers of a number of future NFL stars, from Dan Pastorini to Doug Cosbie to Brent Jones. But for over a decade, the sidelines of Buck Shaw Stadium stand empty on Saturday afternoons. While Division I-AA college football thrives at schools across the nation, the Bronco legacy is mired in a web of misinformation about the value of intercollegiate football and its impact on the Santa Clara community. Within these pages, you'll learn about the opportunities for football to raise academic and athletic standards at SCU, to bring Ivy League and other schools to visit our historic campus, and to remind today's students what fans at Holy Cross, Georgetown, Fordham, and over 40 Catholic colleges and universities already know: the experience and tradition of college football brings a campus and community closer together. © 2008, Let Them Play Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization incorporated in the state of California.
