Let Them Play Foundation
Mission Statement

When Santa Clara dropped football in February of 1993, a group of SCU students banded together in a desperate effort to convince the university to reverse its course and reinstate the program. They called their group "Let Them Play". Although that early student-led effort was not able to convince SCU to reinstate its football program, it was the seed from which "Let Them Play Foundation" sprung.

Let Them Play Foundation is a California non-profit corporation that has been accorded tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service and California's Franchise Tax Board. Its sole function is to advocate and help fund a restoration of intercollegiate football at Santa Clara. Let Them Play Foundation recognizes that, in order to achieve this goal, those who support Santa Clara football must understand all the hurdles that will have to be crossed by the university and its trustees when they bring football back to SCU. Therefore, Let Them Play Foundation seeks to educate both supporters as well as opponents of SCU football on the issues this effort will have to address.

The entire focus of Let Them Play Foundation is positive! It is not about who did what or why, and will not engage in finger-pointing or name calling. None of that will bring back what has been lost. Bronco football has been absent from the SCU campus since 1993. That is past history. The Let Them Play Foundation is interested in making new history.

Let Them Play Foundation will bring you the facts about why college football belongs at Santa Clara, and why it is an asset to the university in so many ways, rather than the liability that some people would have you believe.

As Santa Clara moves forward, Let Them Play Foundation will be working toward a new season of Bronco football. Together we can make this happen.
